the beauty of charleston

Like I said, the weather finally warmed up for us on Wednesday, and we enjoyed walking around downtown for a bit.  I finally got to try my first macaron ever, and we treated ourselves to some gelato (chocolate chocolate for Riley) and sorbet (pango for me).  Between the cupcake, macaron, and sorbet, I really ought to stay away from sugar for the rest of the year, at least.  Not that I'm going to... but I should.

For the last several months, Riley's had this running joke that I wouldn't make it past Charleston. Whenever someone asked him if his wife was coming along he'd laugh and say, "yeah, but I'll probably have to leave her in Charleston to catch a flight home." He didn't think I could hack it! I'm proud to say that not only did I make it through Charleston, but that I was more than happy to board our little boat and get on with our journey!

We're currently underway, cruising on to our next destination!  Happy weekend!

    1. I love them, too! Houses can look so pretty in pastels. I don't know if I'd ever have the guts to do it to my own, but I certainly admire those that do. :)

    1. I can answer for her :) I gave her one of my Nikon D300 and 2 prime lenses--50mm/1.8 and the 35mm/1.8.
She will have to tell you which she likes best! :)
Sorry al, you know I have to answer when it comes to photography questions ;)

  11. Love Charleston, and your pictures are so beautiful!! I am a macaron fanatic, and managed to make some at home but it just isn't the same as picking them out of a case at a bakery...all the colors and flavors! Ok, now I need one (or five), haha.

  12. I kid you not...as many times as we've been to Chuck town...what like....8 times maybe? I can NEVER get a macaroon! That shoppe (assuming it's the one I'm thinking of) is ALWAYS closed when we go by. It just kills me!

    1. It took me two tries (once in the middle of the day when it was supposed to be open…), but I wasn't going to leave without one!
