thirty seven weeks

How far along: 37 weeks

Size of baby: a honeydew. Speaking of, that sounds pretty good right now...

Maternity clothes: So, I went to buy some maternity shorts the other day since it's starting to get too warm for pants, and when I picked up my size and looked at the gigantic waistband I thought there was no way that they would fit. Guess what? Fit like a glove.

Gender: a girl!

Movement: quite a bit. And her favorite lounging positions are the ones that make my stomach the most awkwardly shaped.

Sleep: haha.

What I miss: eating anything without worrying about acid reflux, comfortable sleep, and clothing options.

Food cravings: anything cold. Especially ice cream.

Food aversions: anything that's likely to trigger acid reflux, which seems to be everything but ice cream.

Symptoms: waddling.

What I'm looking forward to: Even though most activities and positions involve quite a bit of discomfort these days, I'm still enjoying this period of anticipation. Obviously we're looking forward to meeting her, but this time of planning and preparing and daydreaming is still kind of fun, especially as we get closer to the end and it starts to feel more and more real! I'm also looking forward to putting some finishing touches on the nursery, too.

thirty five weeks

How far along: 35 weeks

Size of baby: a coconut. Though I've also been told I'm having a soccer ball, basketball and a watermelon.

Maternity clothes: yep. At this point anything that I bought pre-pregnancy looks pretty ridiculous or tent-like, like this dress.

Gender: a girl!

Movement: quite a bit. She seems to be hanging out right up in my rib cage, and my stomach looks lopsided more often than not.

Sleep: I'm not really counting on the sleeping situation getting any better for a long time to come.

What I miss: eating anything without worrying about acid reflux, comfortable sleep, and clothing options.

Food cravings: I think about ice cream more than anyone really should.

Food aversions: Anything that's likely to trigger acid reflux, which seems to be unpredictable for the most part.

Symptoms: Acid reflux is still hanging around, but my newest symptoms are sore, tired feet, aching ribs, and my hands have started falling asleep at night. That last one was a funny surprise!

What I'm looking forward to: Tying up a lot of loose ends. We have one more childbirth class left, and our birth plan and hospital bags are almost done. Other than that we just need to finish the nursery and check off a few smaller "to dos" here and there!

currently… brown paper packages and peonies

my very first bloom from my very first peony bush!

designing: a nursery for baby girl! I've kind of come to a standstill on it because we've been focused on getting the remaining necessities and there are a few things we still need to move out of the room. But I can't wait to get it all organized and pretty. I know we won't be using the nursery much at first, so it's really just for my own fun and peace of mind.

enjoying: the beautiful spring weather that we're finally experiencing! It's also been fun to see what's been planted in our yard as things start blooming.

ordering: A lot. I'd be embarrassed to tell you just how many packages have arrived at our door in the last two weeks. In my defense, we still needed quite a few things off of our baby registries and most of them are practical purchases!

celebrating: I kind of hated to see it go, but I'm celebrating the end of April because so much got checked off of our to do lists. We also have some birthdays to celebrate this month, as well as Mother's Day, of course.

tasting: Ever since we discovered the best homemade ice cream shop during our maternity photo session, I've become pretty obsessed. If I do nothing else this summer (besides care for a newborn), I will taste every single one of the flavors on their menu. Aim high!
